SUMMER SIZZLIN' BOWLING TOURNAMENT 2008 RULES
PARTICIPANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND ACCEPTS EACH OF THE FOLLOWING RULES
- This tournament is open to all USBC
members. All applicants must show a current USBC
card to participate.
- Doubles will consist of 3 games moving
after each game. You may bowl with up to three partners at one
time. (Matching Scores)
- Handicap will be 80% of 210 for men and
90% of 210 for women. Participants will use the highest 2006-2007 or
2007-2008- USBC sanctioned league average based on a minimum of 36 games, at
time of participation. You must have the above two years averages to bow in
this tournament. All bowlers will bowl scratch. There will be a maximum
handicap of 63 pins per game for women ad 48 pins per game for men.
- It shall be each bowler's responsibility
to verify the accuracy of the submitted average. Failure
to use the correct average shall disqualify score if
submitted average is lower than the correct average
thereby resulting in more handicap. Prize winnings shall
be based on the submitted average if it is higher than
the correct average. No refunds will be given for
disqualification due to incorrect averages used.
- Any bowler who has own $600.00 or more, in any event in a
tournament in the previous 12 months must report this information inclusive of
all scores related to said winnings to the Summer Sizzlin
Tournament/Tournament Director(s) in writing, prior to the beginning of the
shift during which the applicant bowls, for a possible re-rating.
- The 10 pin rule and Rule 319e is waived for this
tournament. The Tournament Director(s) reserve the right to re-rate any bowler
whose entering average does not reflect the bowler's true capability before
they bowl. If the bowler rejects the re-rate, his entry will be refunded. Each
payment of the entry fee of $64.00 constitutes a separate and distinct entry
and constitutes a separate and distinct entry and contractual agreement
between the Summer Sizzlin Bowling Tournament and the participant.
- If you're found by USBC to have violated any USBC rule and
the USBC holds that your winnings in this tournament be forfeited and paid to
other entrants next in line, it is hereby agreed that there shall be no
liability on the part of the Summer Sizzlin Classic, Cotton Bowl Lanes, or
it's Tournament Director(s) to you as an entrant complying with such holding
of USBC.
- Multiple participation is allowed in this
tournament. You may place with the same partner only
once.
- Members of the PBA who have bowled 1 or
more National Tour Stops in the previous 36 months are ineligible.
- Prize ratio will be at least one for each
ten entries. All Prize fee collected will be returned 100%.
- Bowlers must pay each shift at time of bowling (Cash,
Check or Credit Card).
- Closing date of entries will be 3:00pm August 17, 2008.
- The Tournament Director(s) reserve the right to accept or
reject any entry and decide on all questions or disputes arising in this
tournament. The decision of the tournament directors shall be final. Unless an
appeal is made in accordance with Rule 329.
- Tournament checks will be mailed within 30 days of the close of the
tournament unless there is a challenge by tournament Directors or
participants, as to the final results of the tournament. If there is a
challenge as to the final results, tournament checks will be mailed within 30
days of the resolution of such challenge by USBC or a competent court of law
Any Official Protest must be made to the Tournament Director, Local
Association Official or U.S.B.C. Office before Tournament checks are issued.
- Premature termination of the tournament
brought about by war, national emergency or emergency causes relating to fire,
national disaster, or any other reason beyond the control of the Cotton Bowl
Lanes and/or Mini Sizzlin Bowling Tournament and it's Director(s), shall
require that all advertised prize money be prorated in
accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled, up until said
premature termination.
- Non-compliance with any one or more of the aforementioned
rules, non-disclosure or misrepresentation to tournament officials,
constitutes complete and final disqualification for that/those entries of
the non-complying non-disclosing and/or misrepresenting parties.
- Any challenge made by a participant against Cotton Bowl
Lanes and/or the tournament and/or tournament Director(s), that results in any kind of legal
action, then participant hereby agrees that participant will pay all
reasonable attorneys fees incurred by the Tournament Director(s), should the
tournament and/or Tournament Director(s) prevail in the
defense of said challenge.
- Any expenses incurred by the tournament director, be they
legal, investigative, or otherwise, that are incurred as a result of
non-disclosure, misrepresentation and/or cheating by the participant, will
be paid by said participant upon proof of such non-compliance,
non-disclosure, misrepresentation and/or cheating.
- Participants agree to read all rules and if they do not
understand said rules will then and there ask for explanation from
Tournament Director(s) prior to bowling. If participants still do not
understand or disagree with any of the aforementioned rules, participants
should not bowl. Participants agree by entry into said tournament and
acceptance of these rules that all legal claims against the Summer Sizzlin'
Bowling Tournament, Tournament Directors and/or Malcolm J. Bordelon will be
adjudicated by the State Court of competent/ subject-matter jurisdiction
within the First Judicial District of Hinds County, State of Mississippi.
