ABA prize funds are paid according to USBC guidelines (2nd place is no less than 1/2 of 1st)

  1. ABA Tournaments are open to bowlers 18 or older, regardless of average (no average cap); however, NO members of ANY Professional Bowling Organization will be allowed to participate.

  2. ABA Dress Code: NO Tank Tops, "Short" Shorts, or Cut-offs

  3. Entering Handicap = 70% of 220; thereafter, a floating handicap system is used. (you gain or lose handicap pins based on qualifying and amount of money won). Maximum entering handicap for Women is 55 pins and for Men is 40 pins.

  4. Qualifying Format: Bowl 3 games across 6 lanes. Total Pins, with handicap, is used to determine bowlers cut into the semi-finals. No carry-over of scores from one cut to another or to the semi-finals. Scratch tournament  qualifying is a 1:6 ratio with a minimum of 2 qualifiers per cut.

  5. Order of qualifying: Automatic positions, regular handicap, Out-of-cut positions - Hi handicap women, senior (50-59), super senior (60+), and then scratch woman and man.

  6. Semi-finals: All qualifiers bowl 3 games to determine the cut for the finals. NOTE: Bowlers qualifying for the 'scratch' tournament only, cannot enter the handicap nassau.

  7. (a) Handicap Finals: The 20 finalists (18 handicap, minimum of 2 women, 2 seniors &  2 super seniors, PLUS top 2 scratch scores not making the 18 handicap) with the top four (4) handicap scores locked into the top 6 step-ladder finals. Positions 5 thru 20 (16 bowlers plus ties) will bowl "SHOOTOUT" format to determine 5th and 6th positions. All scores include handicap. Ties advance to the next game of the shootout except when cutting to the top four or final two, then a one game roll-off will be used. NOTE: Top 20 will lose pins based on money won, with a min. loss of one pin. 21st down will lose pins based on money won. IF won more than entry fee(s).

    (b) Scratch Finals: Top four (4) step-ladder finals with less than 50 entries, top five (5) with 50 or more. Handicap finals take priority, IF no scratch finalists in the handicap finals, then step-ladder finals will be ASAP after the semi-finals.

  8. LANE ROTATION: 10 lanes or less move 1 pair to the right, 12 lanes or more move 2 pairs to the right, 28 lanes or more move 2 pairs to the right PLUS split the house in half.

  9. (a) Handicap Entry Fee: $57 entry fee with a $3 discount for cash---$54 CASH ENTRY FEE
    ($37 prize fund, $1 Special Events Fund and $16 expenses)
    MasterCard, Visa and American Express are accepted-- NO CHECKS

    (b) Scratch Entry Fee: $43 entry fee with a $3 discount for cash---$40 CASH ENTRY FEE
    ($35 prize fund, $5 expenses) in addition to handicap entry fee. MUST ENTER HANDICAP TOURNAMENT. In the event a bowler has qualified in the handicap tournament and wants to enter scratch tournament, bowler must pay the $20 handicap fee plus the scratch entry fee.

  10. Bowl three (3) times additional entries are 1/2 price.

  11. Maximum of six (6) bowlers per pair, EXCEPT for the last squad of any cut when there will be no limit.

  12. A complete set of ABA Tournament Rules are always available at the tournament desk.

  13. First time bowlers to the ABA must provide proper average verification for the current season and previous two (2) years.

  14. First time bowlers to the ABA or any ABA bowlers that have not bowled an ABA Tournament in the last 12 months CANNOT use the last squad of any tournament as their 1st entry. Their 1st entry must be a prior squad.

  15. Bowler must complete all games, not allowed to withdraw in the middle of a squad.

  16. ABA Tournament Directors reserve the right to re-rate or refuse any bowler or entry. The Tournament Director's decisions are FINAL, without appeal, on any and all disputes.

  17. In case of severe weather conditions, CALL THE LANES!
