$1,200 1st ABA SHOOTOUT RULES
1.ABA "SHOOTOUTS" are open to bowlers 18 or older; however, NO members of ANY Professional Bowling Organization will be allowed to participate.
2. ABA Dress Code: NO Tank Tops, "Short" Shorts, or Cut-Offs.
3. Entering Handicap = 70% of 220; thereafter, a floating handicap system is used (you gain or lose handicap pins based on qualifying and amount of money won). Maximum entering handicap for Women is 55 pins and for Men is 40 pins.
4. Qualifying Format: Bowl 3 games across 6 lanes. Total Pins, with handicap, is used to determine bowlers cut into the finals. One woman and one senior guaranteed to qualify each day. No carry-over of scores from one day to the next or to the finals. Order of qualifying -- auto positions, regular handicap, then Out-of-Cut positions (high handicap woman, senior, and then scratch position).
5. Finals: All qualifiers will bowl "SHOOTOUT" format to determine the winner. All qualifiers (15/16) will bowl one game with the top eight scores advancing to the next match. Those eight bowlers bowl one game with the top four scores advancing to the next match. Those four bowlers bowl one game with the top two scores advancing to the final match. Those two bowlers bowl one game to determine 1st and 2nd place. All scores include handicap. Ties advance to the next game of the shootout except when cutting to top four or final two, then a one game roll-off will be used. In the event of 17 to 20 qualifiers, the 1st game of the "SHOOTOUT" will cut the field in half (ex.- 17/18 cuts to top 9, 19/20 cuts to top 10), then the second game will cut to the top 4 and the third game to the final 2. In the events with 21 or more qualifiers, the first game will cut to the top 16, the 8-4-2.
6. Entry Fee: $48 entry fee with a $3 discount for cash -- $45 CASH ENTRY FEE.
($28 prize fund, $1 special events fund and $16 lineage and expenses)
MC, VISA & American Express accepted - NO CHECKS.
7. Handicap Gain: Bowlers not qualifying shall receive one additional pin handicap
(2 pins IF bowled 3or more times) into their next ABA tournament. NOTE: The Tournament Director reserves the right to only award one additional pin with 4 or more entries IF it appears the bowler is throwing games away just to gain handicap. Also, any low games may not count toward ABA average.
8. Handicap Loss: Bowlers making the cut will lose a min. of (1) pin, regardless of money won or lost.
9. Maximum of eight (6) bowler per pair, EXCEPT for the last squad of the day - no limit.
10. LANE ROTATION: 10 lanes or less, move 1 pair to the right, 12 lanes or more move 2 pairs to the right, 28 lanes or more move 2 pairs to the right PLUS split the house in half.

15. Marathon: Some tournaments will be a 7-game marathon.
